I am currently exploring going back to 'face to face' classes - there is a lot to consider in terms of keeping everyone safe and the regulations that exist at the moment.
I have decided, therefore, to start my next class online, with the hope that we could have our last class face to face. For me, baby massage is all about relaxation and a loving touch - this I feel is very difficult with all the restrictions that are needed at the moment - for example, it is recommended that a room should be well ventilated, ie windows open, which means to keep babies warm, massage would have to be through clothes. There is also a lack of clarity on whether we can all sing the nursery rhymes or not.
I want everyone to feel safe and relaxed and I am working towards achieving that with in person sessions in the near future.
How it works: All the online classes are delivered via Zoom. You will be sent the zoom code and password the day before and the waiting room will be open up to half an hour before the class starts. This ensures that our sessions are secure and only invited participants can be part of the class.
Handouts of the massage strokes are provided for each session and these will be attached to the zoom email sent the day before.
Using Zoom enables you to choose when to mute or use the video; some parents like to have more privacy when feeding or changing their babies.
'Doing the session via Zoom has been great, being able to do the class from home has been convenient and still allows me to be sociable with other mums'
